is an Indian child rights activist. He works since the 1990s to rescue children in India from a life of slavery. On a single factory in New Delhi, he managed to free the 100 child laborers. He is reported to have saved approximately 80,000 children who were in various forms of slave labor. He also founded the organization GoodWeave, working against child labor in the carpet industry. GoodWeave is a certification system that ensures that labeled carpets are made without child labor. He has been rewarded with a variety of award in recognition of his work from the US, Germany, Holland, Italy and Spain. This year he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, along with Malala Yousafzai. They both are truly heroes!
