is the intelligence analyst in the United States Army, who forwarded 250 000 American diplomatic notifications and 500 000 defense reports to WikiLeaks, including the infamous video where a helicopter shooting civilians, while the crew make happy comments. He was imprisoned in 2010 and after three years finally sentenced to 35 years in prison and dismissal (dishonorable discharge) from the Army.

Manning saw the wicked in America's war and felt obligated to reveal everything to the public, despite the danger to their own safety. His disclosure may have hastened America's withdrawal from Iraq. Manning has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2011 and 2012.
